HSBC has appointed Gautam Anand as global coordinator for global India, MENA and Europe, global private banking, South Asia, effective December 1.
In an internal memo, Tommy Leung, head of global private banking, South Asia, says HSBC aims to be Asia’s leading wealth manager, and its strategy is to grow Singapore as an international wealth hub. Anand’s appointment “will further support our private banking business and our ability to serve clients across markets”, Leung notes.
Anand has more than 25 years of private banking, wealth management and investment banking experience and deep client relationships.
He joins HSBC from UBS where he was managing director and market team head, responsible for driving the growth of South Asians and global India client business across Asia.
Prior to UBS, he spent close to a decade with Credit Suisse, where he led and managed one of the largest India subcontinent team.
