Citi appoints new Asia-Pacific CFO
Anand Sairam, part of bank's finance team for eight years, was its Asia FP&A head
The Asset 6 Oct 2022

Citi, which continues to build in the Asia-Pacific region despite geopolitics and the slowdown clouding the economic outlook, has appointed Anand Sairam to the position of chief financial officer (CFO) for the Asia-Pacific region following Tim Monger, the previous CFO, who became head of the bank’s North and East Asia cluster in June.

Sairam will work closely with the business heads as the bank focuses on growing wallet share across its various business lines, including banking, markets and services, and strengthening its wealth franchise in the region.

“As the CFO for all Citi businesses across the region, Sairam will lead the Asia-Pacific finance team … to manage financial performance and reporting, strategy and planning, and maintain a high standard of control,” according to an internal memo. As well, he will provide “insights on financial and strategic initiatives”.

Sairam has been part of Citi’s finance team for eight years, most recently as the Asia regional head of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), after serving in the role of head of corporate FP&A. In addition, he also was involved in exploring partnership opportunities, identifying new customer segments and improving client experience.

Prior to joining Citi in 2014, he held investment banking roles at Nomura Securities and Deutsche Bank.
